Lately, Gods been showing me His good gifts that He gives to me. It’s easy to just go through life and not notice the little things. But being here on the World Race has taught me about how important little things are to me. For instance, this whole month in Gainesville, we’ve only been using porta potties. Kinda gross and stinky but I now REALLY appreciate the fact that America has plumbing and sewage systems. But there’s a beauty that I’ve learned to love in the simpler life that I now live. It was obviously kinda disappointing when we learned earlier this year that the first three months wouldn’t be overseas, but yesterday as I was walking back to my campsite, I realized how blessed I was to be here and to not take for granted the time I have here. And one day I know that I’ll miss this simple life.

Here are a few gifts that I’ve received from God recently!

  1. Picking oranges!

It was week two in Louisiana. I was really exhausted and not feeling well after lunch and I came so close to asking if I could stay back and sleep instead of going to clear more trees from the hurricane. I decided to just go and if I needed to, I could take a nap in the van. As we drove up to the homeowners house, I noticed it was super beautiful. There was a large pond in the front yard and a lot of beautiful landscape around. We met the homeowner and he took us to his backyard where he had planted basically a whole orchard. He had olive trees, grapefruit trees, orange trees, a lemon tree, and a few more. I really love citrus/fruit trees and we don’t have a ton in TN so I was instantly really interested in these trees. He was super kind and let us pick his fruit! I felt refreshed after i had seen all of these beautiful trees and I was able to enjoy working with my team! Later on when we were almost finished clearing the yard, this really kind neighbor rode up on her golf cart and asked if a few of us would like to come pick some of her oranges! She drove us to her yard and showed us her two, massive orange trees! We were able to get to know her and her husband a little bit while we admired her trees and picked a whole box for our squad to enjoy. God showed me that He knows what I love and what I need and that He truly cares about how I’m feeling. He showed me the friendly nature of the people of LA and how I can be more hospitable like them.

   2.  My package from home!

This month, we were able to receive packages from home! It was a little taste of home to receive something that I knew was lovingly sent to me from my family. Also, they sent coffee and I really loved that. (Thanks Marcus and Historic Perk!)

   3.  Falling leaves!

It’s fall in GA! Although I do miss the fall time in TN, GA is really pretty and there’s a lot of cool breezes that cheer me and send leaves floating through the air. God speaks to me through the wind and I absolutely love it!

   4.  My squad!

As I get to know my squad more and more, I am reminded of how much I love each and every one of them individually. They each have different personalities and backgrounds and its so amazing to know them! They bless me in so many ways and I know that God put me specifically on this squad and I wouldn’t want it any other way!

There are a whole bunch of other ones that I haven’t mentioned and I can’t thank God enough for what He is doing!

I also want to say thank you for y’all’s support both financially and spiritually! You all have blessed me so much and I know that the Lord will bless you for your willingness to partner with me to spread the kingdom of God.

Love you guys!
