Hey y’all! Last month our squad went to DeQuincy, LA to help Samaritan’s Purse with hurricane disaster relief! Here are some photos from what we did while we were there!

Driving into the city, we could see the destruction for miles. We couldn’t wait to get started helping people clear their yards, tarp their roofs, and muck out their homes. We able to also share about Jesus with them and give them hope for the future!

Here are a few of my squad mates and I exploring the town a little bit!

My team worked together the whole time we were there! We learned a lot about team work and learned how to best serve those around us as a team.

Our day started at 6am for breakfast and devos! We loved a good nap in the parking lot before we started work for the day.

Louisiana is abundant with delicious oranges! At one house we were working at,  a kind neighbor offered us a ride on her golf cart to her property to pick some oranges for our squad!

Here’s me ready to work with the chainsaw! I cleared two and a half trees and it took me about an hour! I learned that I love using the chainsaw!

And that’s all for now! The aren’t enough pictures to truly describe what it was like to serve the people in LA, but they served us more than we served them! God moved in a lot of ways and I can’t wait to serve others overseas!

Check out this video for a more detailed explanation of how we served!
